Interpreting Services Coordinator

Center for Independent Living of South Florida (CILSF)

Full-time with benefits - Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM  

Responsibilities:

A full-time position under the supervision of the Director of Programs.

Responsible for the supervision of the Interpreting Services Department and its contracted interpreters, coordinating ASL interpreting services, scheduling assignments and placements for various events and community needs, in addition to the billing of the department. The Interpreter Services Coordinator is experienced in business development and cultivating community relationships.

Supports the Marketing & Outreach Department by representing the organization at various community events and meetings, which may fall within evening hours and on the weekends.

Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 2 years’ experience in an agency that provides services to people with disabilities. Experience in working with the Deaf & Hard of Hearing community, preferred.

• Must possess advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office and Zoom proficient.

• Possesses knowledge in scheduling and placement of interpreters in addition to billing processes.

• Bilingual preferred, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus, not required.

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel anywhere in Miami-Dade County.

• Must be willing to occasionally work evenings and on the weekends (inc. out-of-town travel)

• Must be able to establish rapport in a multicultural environment and cultivate relationships with businesses, community networks and stakeholders.
