Summary of Position:

CIEE is looking for someone to join a passionate, innovative, and growing team that partners with higher education institutions to provide students with impactful international learning experiences. The Program Manager will serve in a consultative sales role to higher education study abroad staff, career offices, faculty, department chairs, and deans. This role is responsible for all aspects of sales and program planning for faculty-led, internship, and custom semester programs. Based upon his/her portfolio, he/she will be responsible for meeting and exceeding annual sales goals with the aim to provide the highest quality student experiences for U.S. colleges and universities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage an active pipeline of program opportunities to meet annual sales goals
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with partners by understanding their needs and objectives
  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of CIEE’s study abroad and global internship programs and locations
  • Oversee creation of program proposals and build and maintain program budgets
  •  Execute internal processes for program sales, design, operations, pricing, pre-departure, and delivery in collaboration with Enrollment, Academic Affairs, Finance, Global Operations, and other teams
  • Collaborate with Institutional Relations to secure new program leads and new institutional partnerships
  • Facilitate information sharing between higher education institutions and CIEE global staff
  • Maintain and improve communications systems between global and U.S. CIEE staff
  • Attend industry conferences (NAFSA, Forum, CIEE Conference, etc.) to sell and promote CIEE’s Custom Programs
  • Collaborate with Program Administrator(s) on creation of training materials and manuals for global staff
  • Assist with special projects and other tasks as necessary to ensure smooth operation of Custom Programs 

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 3+ years of solution sales, account management, or partnership development experience 
  • Experience working with faculty or within higher education preferred
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, responsible, and passionate about exceeding partner expectations
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively in ambiguous environments
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and take initiative
  • Ability to travel ~10% of the time
  • Study abroad experience preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
