Job Description: Position: Executive Director of Sales, Global Navigator High School Abroad Programs Reports To: VP Global Navigator High School, Teach and TEFL Programs Department: High School Outbound Location: U.S. based remoteAbout the Company: Council on International Education and Exchange (CIEE) is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization that transforms lives and builds bridges between individuals and nations through study abroad and international exchange experiences that help people develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world.Summary of Position: As Director of Sales, you will lead the promotion and outreach effort for the expansion of CIEE’s Global Navigator High School Abroad program portfolio, and ultimately lead the field in study abroad programs that impact high school language learning and global education. You will run the sales effort to ensure that enrollment and revenue goals are met for High School Summer Abroad, High School Abroad and Gap Year Abroad. You will take the lead on high profile sales as well as be a tireless mentor for the team. In this exciting sales role, you will network with: teachers, curriculum directors, and administrators in the high schools professional educational organizations, especially in world languagesthought leaders in state education agencies, universities, and communities who define and value global educationstudents and parents who participate in the CIEE’s high school abroad programs Primary Responsibilities:1) Meet or exceed enrollment and revenue target 2) Manage the Sales Team : Have the overall responsibility for leading and mentoring a team of regional sales teams to achieve aggressive sales goals for existing Global Navigator Programs and future programs to be developed for the high school market.Define sales territories and goals using enrollment history and prospecting dataSupport managers on regional and team targets and in managing sales territory activity Mentor and lead team of local and remote sales staff Develop annual training plan and ad hoc trainings as needed 3) Drive Sales OutreachDevelop and execute annual sales and enrollment strategy to achieve student enrollment and budget goals Have the vision to motivate the salesforce as well as cultivate the network of promoters to build CIEE Global Navigator reputation.Know your sales funnel and sales pipe, manage technology to prioritize and track, and keep the sales funnel full. Ensure the successful promotion and distribution of Global Navigator Scholarship program. We don’t want money to be a barrier to students.Cultivate and build a network of partner schools and teacher champions; manage the network to meet enrollment objectives—conceptualize, propose and provide training, materials and educational products needed to support the network.Develop and manage budgets to achieve program objectives. Ensure that partner and enrollment goals are met in a fiscally conscious manner to ensure return on investment.Be expected to know how much your sales cost to close, what kind of staffing plan creates results, and how to motivate your team with contests and incentives. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop and monitor marketing plan and marketing activities to ensure that messages are on-point, on-schedule, and meeting the right audience to support sales activity. Ensure that ongoing sales pieces are planned out and strategic and one-offs will maximize sales.Develop creative and powerful communication plans to support sales objectives for each program and market. Provide regular reports on business performance and updates on plan initiatives and deliverables. 4) Grow CIEE’s Reputation with Key Stakeholders Represent CIEE Global Navigator Programs at key conferences and ensure proper representation at all conferencesIdentify and cultivate key high level relationships with leading state offices, organizations (ACTFL, SCOLT, California World Language Project, etc.), and officers. Work with VP to ensure communication with these groups is regular and appropriate5) Be part of the Global Navigator Division’s Leadership team Collaborate closely with Enrollment Director and Marketing Director to ensure the program portfolio meets customer needs in terms of the calendar, academic rigor, and diversity of program offerings.Develop market intelligence and knowledge about competing programs and marketplace developments.Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure the Global Navigator High School business is developed consistent with CIEE brand positioning and aligned with divisional and organizational objectives and current operations.Work with all directors to ensure ongoing strategic planning is current and well-communicatedSkills and Experience:A Bachelor’s degree or higher-level post-graduate degreeA minimum 7 years of sales management or related experience in a fast-paced growth environmentExperience qualifying customers and matching solutions to customers’ specific issues Experience managing a sales reporting environment using a CRM system and spreadsheet reporting. You should be an expert at seeing sales numbers, communicating them to the team, and leading the best course of action. Experience working in or with public and private schools. A thorough understanding of how U.S. high school functions, including familiarity with the roles of different constituents and the decision-making process. An enthusiastic commitment to education and personal belief in the power of bilingualism, cultural competency, global citizenship, and how study abroad is an integral part of achieving these objectives. Current knowledge of the varying high school World Language standards, World Studies standards and trends in global education. Correlating these standards to the benefits of study abroad will be critical to success. Experience in shaping communications and defining promotional materials for a wide variety of high school constituents and philosophies. Experience contributing to the strategic direction of a business line with an eye to sales and marketing but also informing product, delivery and customer satisfaction. Experience defining and directing market research that includes the collection and interpretation of data to inform marketing directions. Experience juggling hundreds of issues vying for your attention, making lighting fast decisions and producing excellent written communication with an eye toward attention to detail. Nothing gets past you! International travel and/or study-abroad experience is a big plus.
