Reports To: Director, Teach Abroad and TEFL
Department: TEFL
Location: U.S. based remote

Summary of Position:

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for growing enrollments in CIEE TEFL certification courses that prepare students to Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). To accomplish this, the Sales and Marketing manager will develop and execute effective marketing strategies to expand CIEE TEFL’s market presence and generate leads. In addition, this position will oversee the sales process and will personally engage with leads and applicants to successfully convert them to enrolled students. The Sales and Marketing Manager will also be responsible for building strategic relationships with partners that will refer students or resell CIEE TEFL courses. In these ways the Sales and Marketing Manager will play a key role in the future growth and success of CIEE TEFL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand the TEFL market: competitors, alternatives, and differences; you must be the market expert
  • Develop and execute impactful marketing strategies, leveraging full spectrum of marketing channels
  • Manage agency and freelance relationships, such as designers and copywriters
  • Engage with CIEE participants and alumni to generate rich marketing content and encourage referrals
  • Collaborate effectively with CIEE web and digital marketing teams to refine and execute plans
  • Oversee sales process and consistently work to improve conversion rates
  • Proactively engage with TEFL leads and applicants at every stage of the sales process and work to convert them to enrolled students
  • Meet budgeted sales requirements for retail and partner channels
  • Initiate and build partner relationships
    • Teacher-providing institutions: partner agencies, schools, and staffing agencies
    • Channel sellers: creating opportunities for reselling TEFL courses through partner organizations: government, NGO, private recruiters
  • Cooperate extensively with Teach Abroad team to achieve cross-functional success and mutual benefit
  • Manage, train, mentor and develop direct reports depending on future growth
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of sales, account management, or partnership development experience
  • 2+ years marketing experience or strong familiarity with marketing strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrable ability to take ownership and accountability, and act on business goals and objectives
  • Proven track record of growing accounts by forging a strong relationship with clients
  • Ability to understand competitive markets and communicate value
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM
  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Flexibility and interest in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and take initiative
