Job Description

Chapman Cubine Allen + Hussey is looking for a Lead Web Developer to join our collaborative, creative, and team-oriented environment.

In this role, you will provide guidance and oversight to developers, manage selected client teams and work, and do direct coding for standard and custom production jobs. In addition, you will work with account staff from across the company to help create email campaigns and donation forms, use 3rd party providers like GTM to schedule and change page content, logic, and user paths. The Digital Production Department provides opportunities for guided and self-directed development, conference attendance, and a collaborative and constructive environment for personal development and growth. The successful candidate can think through and solve novel problems in diverse client environments to provide engaging experiences in the nonprofit sector.

Here’s what you get to do:

  • Project coordination: collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients
  • Relate development principles and scope of work to non-technical audiences
  • Actively take initiative to scope and suggest new ideas and projects, working with client teams to assist in drafting proposals
  • Address scheduling issues and provide feedback as needed
  • Build efficiencies into interdepartmental and interdisciplinary systems, processes and deliverables
  • Assist leadership and teams on special projects
  • Provide clear, complete documentation, including but not limited to project and testing status, bug reporting and tracking to the client and production teams
  • Work with client teams to streamline project development and delivery, continually assisting in improving the flow of information and process for job requests and fulfillment
  • Ability to scope projects accurately, prioritize time well and juggle multiple projects with autonomy

Here’s who you are:

  • 5 + years of including all venues of web development for digital marketing and fundraising, and a background in non-profit, advocacy, or political communications
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • An analytic and strategic thinker
  • Excellent client serviced skills
  • A team/project leader
  • Be a team player, ready and able to dig-in, as well as delegate effectively
  • Able to translate business needs into creative and technical solutions
  • Tech savvy and strong technical learning ability
  • Fluency with mobile and responsive design and development best practices
  • Ability to adapt to new systems, processes, and platforms
  • Ability to work with clients in a senior-level consulting role
  • Proficient developing in Windows, OSX and/or Linux environments
  • Ability to adapt to new systems, processes, and platforms
  • Ability to communicate complex technical details to a non-technical audience
  • Fluency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with Node.js or PHP
  • Proficiency in working with 3rd party providers for web services like GTM
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Familiarity with different CMS, WordPress, Drupal, etc.
  • Fluent with Git
  • Mastery of cross-browser and device optimization and troubleshooting
  • Fluency with mobile and responsive design and development best practices
  • Proficient developing in Windows, OSX and/or Linux environments

Nice to haves:

  • Agency/Consultant experience preferred
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP or Heroku
  • Familiarity with VCS principles
