Position Summary
Reporting to the HR Manager/Business Partner, the HR Generalist (HRG) supports the HR Manager to align business objectives with employees and management, and serves as an internal consultant to employees on Human Resource related issues including recruitment, onboarding, general employee relations, benefits and payroll issues. The HRG formulates partnerships across the HR function to assist in the delivery of value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Reporting to the HR Manager the HR Generalist/Recruiting (HRG) supports the HR Manager by providing full cycle recruiting support and support with onboarding and orientating employees to the job.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for supporting the full cycle recruitment effort for all employees:
    • Key responsibility is to seek out professionals with the right combination of experience, education, and skill to fill a position.
    • Works with hiring managers to develop recruiting plans and write job descriptions.
    • Publicize openings by posting them in appropriate outlets and works toward developing a pool of qualified candidates.
    • Identifies recruiting opportunities by researching new sources for talent, cultivating relationships with industry professionals, and networking with post-secondary educational institutions and staffing agencies as appropriate. The HR Generalist will also represent the Company at public events, such as job fairs and community job outreach programs.
    • Additional duties align with the hiring process, beginning with screening applicants, and interviewing potential hires, followed by making recommendations, writing offer letters, conducting reference checks, and negotiating offers when necessary.
  • Supports and administers on-boarding programs for new hires to foster a clear understanding of company benefits, policies, and procedures; ensures new hires have equipment set prior to start date.
  • Conducts employee New Hire interviews to ensure the employee is meeting goals and has received the training and support needed.
  • Assist with Company’s College Recruitment and Internship Program, and Industry Career Fairs. Attend campus recruitment events and career fairs, follow-up with candidates, and make additional introductions to hiring teams.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Escalates potential issues to HR Manager/Business Partner.
  • Treats sensitive data with highest level of integrity and strict confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Education

An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Human Resources, Administration, Management, or related field is required.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of HR experience; recruitment and/or employee relations experience a plus.
  • Must stay current on recent federal, state and case law changes and understands impact to HR.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and full cycle recruitment tools and resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact and follow up with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple clients.
  • Ability to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships internally.
  • Successful Human Resources Generalist will act as employee champion and change agent.
  • Treat the sensitive personal data with the highest integrity and with strict confidentiality.

Self-directed and motivated; takes initiative to identify and anticipate employee needs and make recommendations for implementation/execution.
