Job Description
Desired Experience and Skills:
- At least 5-10 years' experience with progressive growth in financial positions
- Broad business acumen, understanding business processes, business models and functions with the capability to drive changes needed for continued growth across all functions of business.
- Familiarity with fundamental principles of accounting, Revenue, Profit and Cost optimization.
- Exceptional analytical skills and strong ability to navigate & query multiple data systems for analytics and reporting.
- Known for precision and completeness of work
- General Ledger and accounting hands on work and reporting and will report to the Controller
- Experience with Team Design or Netsuite are a plus
- Experience with People management and development is a plus
Role Summary:
The Accounting Manager / Sr Accountant position is responsible for a broad range of financial measurements and reporting activities as part of the team to run a well-informed, controlled business. This role provides financial support to the company leadership as well as the 10 individual markets in our company.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for production of the weekly and month-end financial reporting of sales, revenue, gross margin and other key metrics of success in our business.
- Provides financial analysis and variance commentary.
- Expertise in the use and navigation of the variety of systems holding the data that runs our business.
- Key player in the implementation of a new ERP system, especially in the area of architecting reports that will replace the current "manual" processes.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and the necessary mechanisms to aggregate data from multiple sources in order to provide consolidated views of our business.
- Responsible for preparing the "Annual Sales Report", a comprehensive package which details the client and vendor activity by market for the full year.
- Owns a number of process and controls functions required to effectively operate the business (example: compliance, contract validation, state requirements).
