CBG Corporation is an engineering and manufacturing company that designs, assembles and services instruments or sensors that are used in the Oil and Gas drilling industry. These instruments, or “tools” are designed to measure characteristics of the formation through which these wells are drilled. They are referred to as MWD (measurement-while-drilling) and/or LWD (logging-while-drilling) tools.
CBG is a leader in the development and sales of tools that measure the natural gamma radiation emitted from the surrounding formation of the borehole. These tools must provide reliable performance at high-temperatures (175C) and under significant vibration and shock. These are unique conditions that require an engineering professional with significant experience in this area.
I suspect that qualified candidates for this position will be found either currently within the Oil Service Industry or having come from it. Likely candidates will have been employed by one of the major companies such as Schlumberger, Halliburton or Baker. An advanced degree with at least 10 years of experience is preferable.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing high-temperature electronics and sensors for the downhole industry with specific emphasis on gamma measuring tools or similar. In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage one or more projects, from design through production.
The candidate will oversee a small engineering group that includes Mechanical, Electronic and Software Engineers and technicians. He/she will report directly to me. Candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects as well as leading design efforts.
