Our A&P Maintenance Technician is an essential member of an award-winning service delivery team who ensures each assigned aircraft (G200, CJ2, PC12) remains meticulously managed; including maintenance, record keeping, detailing, and always-always-always safe before flight. The A&P Maintenance Technician must be detail-oriented and possess solid communications skills. Your position includes varying amounts of parts replacement or repair, electrical troubleshooting, and general mechanical applications.
Ideal candidate possesses 6+ experience and working knowledge of CFR 14 and FAA Parts 43, 91, and 135. Candidate should exude high aptitude for logistics and creative solutions, effortless leadership abilities, a self-starter, efficient with time, a ninja with tools, likes to smile, speak fluent aviation, and gel with a team of like-minded go-getters.
Candidate must display PASSION (for aviation and aircraft), have computer skills, and communicate well (have we communicated the importance of communication?). IA and OEM training is desirable, as are Textron, Gulfstream, or/and Pilatus experience. Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform, or oversee the performance of, and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft including engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, accessories (brakes, valves, pumps, air conditioning systems, seats, etc.) and other parts of the aircraft as required in accordance with the FARs.
Repair and service hangar, shop and ground support equipment as well as daily house cleaning activities.
Do necessary inspections using precision instruments to measure parts for wear and use. Comply with tool calibration requirements.
Ensure that all safety regulations including hazardous waste management are complied with on a federal, state and local level.
Travel to airport locations to repair aircraft in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) status or arrange repairs through outside vendors.
On occasion travel on the owner aircraft for test flights, troubleshooting or at the owner's request.
Coordinate release of aircraft with the Ops Department.
Perform receiving inspection on all incoming parts and components.
Responsible for assuring that the company’s goals for safety, security and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.
Consult appropriate technical information for procedures, specifications and to determine feasibility of repair or replacement according to discrepancy.
Determine and request parts required for repair of discrepancies.
Perform functional checks of aircraft systems; troubleshoot as required.
Advise Director of Maintenance about task requirements and status.
Communicate turnover of tasks to oncoming technicians in writing or verbally.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Repair, build, and maintain shop equipment as required.
Perform inspection functions as assigned.
Cooperate in conduct with the Safety Management System, and be instrumental with corrective action plans and preventative measures.
Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and organizational standards.
Identify deficiencies, develop, implement, and verify preventive and corrective measures.
Certifications and Licenses
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P)
5-7 years of experience required
Previous experience in a Part 135 operation (preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to run and taxi owner aircraft.
Ability to work on a lift platform 3 feet to 40 feet in the air, as required by repair needs.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs.
Ability to operate various tools including, but not limited to jacks, welders, torches, paint guns, sanders, and drill press.
Ability to lift and move machine parts weighing up to 70 pounds from ground to equipment level (waist level) and maneuver any single item weighing up to 125 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance from another person.
Ability to learn and use technical manuals with a good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively.
Able to communicate both in writing and orally in a clear and understandable manner.
Must be able to effectively and quickly perform repairs in short notice, high pressure situations.
Must be able to input and retrieve information from computers.
Able to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, in order to perform repairs.
Must be able to perform receiving inspections to company standards.
Must possess the ability to operate basic hand tools.
Full understanding of aviation safety standards, safe operating and emergency practices.
Proven ability to set priorities, communicate objectives and meet deadlines.
Maintain a valid state driver’s license and meet the company's insurance requirements
Must have basic personal hand tools.
Working environment includes the area for moving mechanical parts, equipment and various chemicals.
Loud shop equipment and jet engines which at times require hearing protection.
Occasional exposure to human body fluids/tissue.
May need to wear a filtration mask.
Frequent to continuous standing, reaching, stooping.
Random physical activity may require entering into a confined space.
