Financial Services Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Employee organizes, plans, accurately completes and documents daily operational activities necessary for the effective and compliant operation of CB&S Financial Services. This includes administrative, service, selling, and marketing related tasks. May be asked to train and support other personnel in various areas. Basic knowledge and proficiency in all areas of operations is essential. This includes property and casualty insurance, life and health insurance, investments, branch sales programs, referral programs and any other businesses that CB&S Financial may engage in from time to time. Responsible for adhering to and managing all procedural and compliance directives; both internal and as required by various regulatory agencies for the company. Responsible for maintaining office and work areas in a manner that is neat, inviting, respects customer privacy and is conducive to selling situations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training and Compliance
- Must supervise customer service representatives in the home office in carrying out their duties.
- Satisfactorily completes training and continuing education courses as required by supervisor.
- Training will be frequent and ongoing to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility.
- Maintains proper licenses for any and all products for which you engage in actual selling activities.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Administration and Operations
- Assists in developing workflows and procedures to ensure a high level of customer service, efficient and compliant operations.
- Documents all material conversations with vendors, clients and prospects in electronic agency management system.
- Participates in strategy, sales and Board of Directors meetings as requested by supervisor.
- Maintains records as required by vendors, outside regulators, internal audit & compliance and as requested by supervisor.
- Reviews policies and endorsements for accuracy.
- Maintains compliant customer files.
- Assists in maintaining accurate and complete accounting records.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Sales, Service & Marketing
- Replies to customer inquiries and calls in timely and courteous manner.
- Directs and assists both walk-in and call-in customers.
- Maintains customer reception area in a neat and inviting manner.
- Assists producers in sales process; including service, marketing and administrative activities.
- Attends and assists at functions outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Identifies customer needs and provides solutions within the agency's guidelines.
- Quickly and efficiently resolves customer service issues.
- Interacts with bank personnel at all levels as an ambassador for the agency in a manner that:
- Respects them as fellow employees.
- Recognizes that they are each potential customers and referral sources.
- Respects both the bank and CB&S Financial Services as related yet distinct companies.
- Communicates with other outside agency personnel wherever located through email, mail, telephone, etc.
- Gathers data from client and potential clients necessary for underwriting and /or consultations.
- Organizes and executes marketing activities as directed by supervisor.
- Engages in cross-selling activities as requested by supervisor.
- Rates, quotes and processes new business and renewal business within the agency's guidelines.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a business related field preferred or equivalent related experience including two or three years' sales experience.
- Strong personal leadership skills, excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with customers, listen effectively and to communicate complex issues, both orally and written.
- Ability to analyze and summarize complex financial information, make presentations of that information, communicate its contents and make recommendations for appropriate courses of action to management and/or existing and potential customers.
- Must be self-motivated, self-starter, problem-solver, team player, goal achiever, personable and an extroverted personality.
- Must also be willing to travel and have the ability to drive a personal or company automobile.
- If an employee utilizes his or her personal automobile, they must maintain the appropriate insurance coverage.
- Must also have a valid driver's license.
- Must be licensed to sell life, health, property, casualty and any other insurance products as required by the supervisor.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of our customers.
- Demonstrates proficiency and commitment to excellence in performance of duties.
- Standard computer skills and able to perform moderately complex tasks.
- Ability to handle and produce accurate work within a specified time frame.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of all insurance products. Performs all areas of responsibilities so they are completed in timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
- Acceptable attendance and reporting to work in a timely manner.
- Maintains positive work-environment with co-workers and customers.
- Requires ability to work well with others.
- Must be alert in all job functions.
- Conducts customer relations in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.
- Must be courteous and respectful of all customers and employees.
- All employees are expected to conduct themselves in professional matter which is conducive to the effective operation of the company.
- Must follow all company policies and procedures and have the ability to implement said policies and procedures through our branch personnel.
- Ability to maintain matters of a highly confidential nature.
- Honesty must be an essential ingredient in all matters.
- Attempt to return all phone calls the same day as they are received.
- Obtains goals as determined by the Agency Manager with regards to the appropriate number of contact calls to prospective clients on a weekly/monthly basis (via phone, person.)
- Must always use good judgment and patience.
- Other goals and performance measure established by the company.
- Acquires continuing education hours as required.
- Must be goal oriented and able to follow internal sales processes.
- Must be able to follow business planning models approved by supervisor.
