This role has an expectation of 4 days in the office per week, subject to change based on future business needs.

What you'll be doing:
  • Under the direction of the Director, Financial Operations, the Sr Manager, Financial Operations serves as a Subject Matter Expert on all Customer Contract and Invoicing functions and systems
  • The Sr Manager, Financial Operations develops and maintains high quality/cost efficient processes, trains/leads associates and works effectively across the CARFAX organization to identify and resolve operational challenges that could potentially impact contract processing or billing processes
  • The Sr Manager, Financial Operations also manages the daily operations of the Billing Team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of invoicing, timely delivery of data and reporting based on validation of detailed billing rules and calculations that support invoicing processes
  • Duties also include close collaboration with leadership of the Finance, Sales, Pricing and IA Teams to establish smooth transition of onboarding new CARFAX customers, knowledge transfer of new products and services, addressing complex billing challenges, and ensuring timely delivery of data and reporting needed to invoice CARFAX customers

Leadership (30%)
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other resources and departments to ensure that system enhancements, workflow changes implemented by other departments, and new system conversions are handled appropriately to ensure there is no negative impact to the Contract Support or Billing Teams
  • Recruit and hire team members, as necessary, who can work independently and deliver high quality results consistently
  • Develop a team culture that emphasizes responsibility, quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance and follows the CARFAX Playbook
  • Communicate effectively with team, peers, and leaders within the company
  • Provide oversight and direction to colleagues in accordance with CARFAX policies and procedures, GAAP and SOX
  • Lead initiatives, projects, and tasks that strategically support the Company and/or Finance Teams

Operational (35%)
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the Contract Support and Billing teams to ensure timely and accurate onboarding of new customer contracts and the timely and accurate delivery of billing information
  • Work closely with Accounting team to ensure all month-end entries are recorded timely and accurately
  • Work collaboratively with the Pricing and Sales teams and other department leaders to understand CARFAX products and services and the contractual fee structures for the CARFAX lines of business
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to staff and accomplish the work and meet departmental productivity and overall company goals.
  • Prepare periodic reporting for management as well as manage the maintenance of current reporting necessary to carry out the functions of the teams.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Analytical (25%)
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output
  • Develop and maintain operational metrics that are reported through departmental dashboards to leadership and others
  • Develop tracking spreadsheets or logs to track recurring billing issues to identify and resolve root cause or repeat offenders
  • Develop tracking spreadsheets or logs to track recurring contract/pricing issues to identify and resolve root cause (systematic (CPQ) or otherwise)

Strategic/Influence (10%)
  • Work closely with other financial leaders to represent the Financial Operations Team in the roll-out of additional phases of Salesforce-CPQ and other system enhancements.

What we're looking for:

  • 8-10 years of related work experience of increasing responsibility as financial/billing or operations manager or leader and/or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major tasks required.
  • Ability to present financial information to leadership levels of the company
  • Proficient in Salesforce, COGNOS and NetSuite a plus, Microsoft Office, with a high level proficiency in Excel
  • Analytical and critical thinking: ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
  • Teamwork: Builds relationships and works cooperatively with others inside and outside Finance to accomplish objectives to build and maintain mutually beneficial partnership, leverage information and achieve results
  • Problem Solving: Gathers and analyzes information to generate and evaluate potential solutions to problems, issues and challenges while weighing the accuracy and relevance of the facts, data and information
