The Contract Manager will be responsible for administration of all aspects of Contract Management to assure legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance while assuring the interests of the company are maintained.

Contracts Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop procedures and processes for daily research of all government and worldwide websites for potential RFQs, IFBs and RFPs.
  • Participation in the preparation and review of proposals to assure that all contract terms are known and understood and to advise management of potential problems related to the performance of the proposed contract requirements.
  • Work with Management leaders on the negotiation of contracts to assure that the company gets the most favorable contract, schedule, and price terms possible.
  • Review and manage all contracts requirements to assure that Capewell meets all customer obligations. Track contract deliverables, customer communications and billing to assure that accurate contract records are kept.
  • Monitor contract performance to assure that all activity remains within the scope of the contract and identify opportunities for contract changes to Management.
  • Establish and maintain electronic and hardcopy contract record keeping systems compliant with internal procedures, customer requirements, and government regulations and law.
  • Assure company compliance to import/export requirements of goods and services under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Customs regulations, and other trade regulations, while leveraging available legal resources.
  • Prepare and monitor the status of Export Licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements, Commodity Jurisdictions, Classification Requests, and other requests for approval to the Office of Defense Trade Controls, U.S. Dept. of State, the Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Office of Foreign Assets Controls.
  • Review business documents (examples: Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements, Distributor Agreements, License Agreements, Letters of Credit, etc.) and make recommendations to Management.

Contracts Manager Requirements:

  • Must have previous experience in Aerospace and Defense contract area (4-6 years preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience managing federal government contracts
  • 3+ years of experience negotiating contract terms
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS and ITAR regulations
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field required
  • Detailed working knowledge of U.S. Government aerospace and defense industry contractual and purchasing procedures
  • Ability to read, understand, and write contracts, agreements, and related business documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Occasional travel will be required to other facilities and for training purposes
