Job Description

The Lead Operations Specialist will maintain, develop, lead, and grow the Truckload department that will deliver a client experience based on Candor’s commitment to its partners. While overseeing the entire operations team for a complete service line, this person will drive quality, growth, and relationships with existing and potential customers. This role serves as the operational point of contact for all shipments within the service line (expedite, truckload, or multimodal, etc.). Important tasks include managing Operational Specialists, focus on operations and ownership of larger clients, as well as identifying opportunities for growth across existing client companies.

General Responsibilities

  • Acknowledges and communicates solutions to customer inquiries for freight transportation opportunities
  • Identifies and creates new service opportunities within the current customers
  • Builds relationships with necessary vendors to support the department.
  • Serves as the Lead operational point of contact for all shipments of assigned clients
  • Collaborates and works with the Sales team on new and existing opportunities
  • Coordinates, solicits, and provides timely and effective communication channels to its partners/teammates.
  • Communicates directly with customers/carriers to address issues and create Plans of Action to deliver quality service experiences
  • Executes and assists in developing internal controls with Client & Carrier Services Manager to ensure that Candor’s Carrier Partners meet and exceed safety and service standards.
  • Assists in hiring, onboarding and training of Operations Specialists
  • Provides leadership, supervision and guidance for Operations staff by cascading Candor's values and service levels.
  • Part of process improvement for operations team.
  • Can be lead operations professional for specific clients.
  • Leading employee teams and additionally work as an individual contributor simultaneously.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of related experience in Operations, Project management, or related discipline.
  • Working understanding of transportation, freight, supply chain industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel with little supervision
