What You'll Get to Do

  • Provide lifecycle management and operational support for relational database management systems (RDBMS) and all related software to include Oracle and other relational technologies in Production, Dev/Test, and distributed environments
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support GoldenGate on Oracle RAC in a Linux environment
  • Proactively monitor, manage, and troubleshoot database operations, performance and storage
  • Provide database support to cross-functional Agile application development teams
  • Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases to ensure optimal execution of supporting applications.
  • Perform database system backup and recovery functions
  • Coordinate, configure, install software upgrades with minimal impact to the supporting applications
  • Plan, coordinate, and recommend security measures to safeguard databases
  • Collaborate with software engineers to enhance and maintain dynamic, high volume, data processing applications deployed for manual and automatic operations in a high-availability 24/7 environment
  • Leverage agile tools and practices to deploy and maintain orchestrated instances of the microservices based components in a DevSecOps ecosystem
  • Experience deep job satisfaction through rapid deployment of contributions to user community delivering meaningful increased mission capabilities
  • Provide support to program through flexible, accommodating schedule

More About the Role
  • Collaborate with team peers and mentoring leads to meet program goals in Linux-based microservices architecture environment with web-based front-end dashboards
  • Integrate and leverage open-source tools to efficiently orchestrate database system performance across suites of servers grouped by mission application and geographically dispersed
  • Design and implement new database features to improve system performance and support expanded system requirements
  • Maintain existing operational databases performing restoration, synchronizing, clustering, and creating views
  • Support infrequent after-hours maintenance and outage recovery
  • Investigate discrepancy reports and interact with operators and on-site administrators to diagnose issues restore operations
  • Grow expertise in problem domain with national and international travel opportunities

You'll Bring These Qualifications
  • An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Security+ certification
  • University Degree (BA/BS) in an IT/Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least seven years of database administration related work experience including designing, implementing, and optimizing database systems
  • Experience with data modeling, tuning, scaling, security, backup, recovery and integrity
  • Ability to take high level requirements and work with developer leads to create a data model to store transactional data
  • Experience working with Oracle databases
  • Experience working in a Linux O/S environment
  • Familiarity with microservices based architecture and its impact to data storage
  • Skills in analyzing and optimizing database performance, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience performing GoldenGate upgrades, replication, error resolution, and restarts without data loss
  • Experience configuring GoldenGate adapters and connectors (e.g., JMS, Kafka)
  • Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and tuning Oracle on Linux
  • Knowledge of GoldenGate High Availability using Oracle DBFS and Data Guard
  • Knowledge of GoldenGate Studio or integrating with Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Familiarity with MariaDB
  • Familiarity with MongoDB
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL
  • Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and DevSecOps processes and tools (including Jenkins)
  • Experience with Atlassian products including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with configuration management tools including Git
  • Familiarity with software containerization, orchestration, and deployment solutions including Spring, Docker, and/or Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with National Level Systems

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$94,400 - $198,300
