The Communication and Media Specialist Senior shall provide support to the Division of Investment Management


  • Create, edit, translate, and disseminate data/information through a variety of platforms.
  • Conduct research, data gathering, analysis, metrics reporting and other communication program-related activities.
  • Track, file, and maintain document and media artifacts in compliance with FOIA and records management requirements.
  • Draft, prepare, review, curate and publish complex materials/documents that may include articles, brochures, manuals, reports, publications, information kits, banners, user guides, and training manuals, power point presentations, white papers, speeches, and other information materials.
  • Ensure digital/web content, text, prints, and audiovisual products are properly published on the agencies internal and external sites; to include SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with SEC staff to propose and implement creative solutions for communication requests or challenges.
  • Create, edit, and sustain SharePoint sites and pages.
  • Convert or create 508 compliant documents.
  • Draft and edit documents, including technical documents.
  • Provide technical support to staff.
  • Revise, create, and maintain standardized material for reports, manuals, briefs, presentations, proposals, orders, and related technical and administrative publications.
  • Organize material according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by SEC staff.
  • Establish technical specifications and determine subject material to be developed.
  • Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate data/information.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related labor category field such as Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism from an accredited college, university, school, or educational institution that has been accredited by accrediting bodies or organizations recognized by the US Department of Education.
  • At least six years’ recent experience in media design and development
  • Ability to provide favorable credit history.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, and other major software tools.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization software such as Microsoft PowerBi, Tableau, MicroStrategy or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining custom SharePoint sites and pages.
  • Must have experience designing and developing Power Point slides.
  • Experience with executing projects from conception to production, such as websites and brochures.
  • Candidate must be able to work effectively in an extremely pressured environment.
  • Must have and use excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables within tight deadlines.
