Assistant Controller

Buyers Products company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for a detail- oriented, motivated professional to join our Finance team as an Assistant Controller. Qualified candidates must be able to function both as a member in a team environment and independently while working with privileged data and information. A high degree of integrity and confidentiality is required for this position coupled with an ability to work cross functionally across the organization and provide guidance and direction on day-to-day activities. The position currently reports directly to the CFO.

Primary Job Duties:

 Manage the collection and interpretation of operational and accounting data daily to ensure

accurate, timely general ledger data across 2 manufacturing and 2 real estate entities.

 Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures for each entity.

 Manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process and produce accurate financial

statements in modified cash basis for 4 entities.

 Review weekly payroll for 2 entities including payroll tax reporting processed by our 3rd party

payroll provider.

 Calculate business risk analysis for insurance coverage on an annualized basis.

 Assist in the administration of one 401K retirement plan.

 Research accounting and tax issues for compliance and make recommendations to

management.

 Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the Finance Department.

Skills/ Experience:

 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting.

 Ability to work in a multi – entity environment.

 Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Teams

 Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large quantities of data.

 A sense of urgency and a high desire to continuously improve processes is critical.
 Teamwork and the ability to meet deadlines.

Education Background:

 B.S Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or Business Required (Masters Preferred)

 CPA Preferred

 Previous experience in manufacturing or real estate industries is a plus
