This hybrid role will be located near our Waltham, MA office. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work authorization for this role.

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will directly support the Assistant Corporate Controller in all aspects of the Finance/Accounting Department. Primary responsibilities will include journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, financial statements, fixed assets, A/P, A/R, audits and month and year-end close.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, be highly analytical, detail-oriented, hands on and skilled at financial reporting, developing internal controls, policies and procedures. A successful Senior Accountant will be able to generate high quality work in a fast-paced environment and produce accurate, complete and timely journal entries, schedules, reconciliations and financial statements as well as communicate and collaborate effectively across functions. Must be able to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Prepares and books journal entries including standard monthly accounting entries and statistical metrics

• Month End Closings

• Prepare draft financial statements. analyze financial statement balances, trial balances, subsidiary ledgers, and identify variances.

• Research and resolve discrepancies

• Reconciling balance sheet accounts thoroughly

• Assist with developing consistent policies and procedures

• Assist with documenting and implementing internal controls

• Assist with integrating new acquisitions

• Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Prepare for Audits (financial, bank and sales tax)

• Special Projects as needed

• Ad Hoc financial analysis and reporting using QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel etc.

• Regular interaction with accounting team, management, auditors, support staff and outside stakeholders

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA/CPA preferred

• Combination of Big 4 Public Accounting and Industry Experience

• 5+ years of progressive directly related accounting experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

• NetSuite or other ERP system experience a plus

Competencies, Skills & Abilities:

• Basic accounting principles with demonstrated ability to manage journal entries and month end statements with required analysis and interpretation

• Solid knowledge of GAAP

• Solid mathematical skills and ability to reconcile

• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook

• Proven ability to take direction, learn quickly and meet deadlines

• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills

• Be able to multi-task and think effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Must have demonstrated good judgment and be an independent thinker

• Must be flexible, detail oriented and reliable

• Must have high sense of urgency

• Extremely well organized

• Strong Communication skills both written and oral

• Team Player - strong interpersonal skills
