A Mental Health Worker/LCDP is a non-medical member of the Patient Care Services Team whose function is to coordinate and implement the direct care of substance abuse/dual diagnosis patients in the ADTS-PH.
- Responsibilities also include co-leading groups, providing individual substance abuse counseling, participating in individualized treatment plans for the patient, and assisting the patient in follow-up and relapse prevention planning under the direct supervision of the nurse manager or designee.
- The MHW/LCDP works in collaboration with unit staff and the inter-disciplinary treatment team (under the supervision of Clinical Director) in implementing groups and activities within the hospital milieu to meet the educational, recreational, and social needs of the patients.
- Provides role as patient advocate through his/ /her own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients needs for service.
UNION Position; part-time, benefit eligible. Yearly Stipend for LCDP,
Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 20 hours a week/40 per pay period
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred; Licensed Chemical Dependency (LCDP) required.
Training and Experience: Experience in working with mentally ill clients. Ability to multi-task
Special Qualifications: Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with others in a collaborative manner. Creative and flexible.
