Job Description

BPI is looking for a Creative Operations Director. You will manage the Creative Department work-flow in a way that fosters the development of exceptional creative while optimizing the efficient deployment of creative resources. The right candidate thoughtfully connects the dots between business and creative while calmly and steadily handling many moving pieces. You are able to quickly understand project requirements as well as employee skills, background, professional development and career goals, using this information to help effectively balance workload while also meeting business needs and have experience providing insightful reporting and analysis to leadership and project teams, proactively identifying gaps, helping to resolve issues and making strategic and thoughtful staffing decisions to ensure open staffing needs are filled with the right person at the right time and cost.

Your primary responsibilities are to:

  • Foster an environment where creativity can happen
  • Enhance/expand our talent base and manage our talent needs
  • Develop and maintain a creative process that works for our fast-paced environment
  • Ensure our Creative team consistently delivers a superior product

On daily basis you will:

  • Develop infrastructure and operations for the Creative team to increase timeliness and communications, while supporting excellence in the creative development process
  • Collaborate with creative leaders and account managers to anticipate, source and confirm resources for both active and potential projects
  • Supervise the development of all timelines and budgets as they relate to creative projects; ensure your team (Traffic Manager and Production Coordinator) is tracking with every creative project and that the Creative team is delivering on time and on budget while finding any potential sources of wasted funds
  • Serve as liaison between the account and creative teams; you have the unique ability to see challenges from the both the Creative team POV and the Client POV and you work to find creative solutions that work for everyone
  • Define and evaluate process and technology needs, constantly assessing whether the creative team has the processes and tools in place to collaborate efficiently and effectively
  • Understand our creative talent and optimize creative resources to enable the development of great creative
  • Manage competing priorities and present and propose creative processes to both internal teams and clients


The ideal candidate brings:

  • 7-10+ years experience in project and/or resource management at a creative, production, marketing or advertising agency
  • Positive attitude and a curious nature. You love rolling up your sleeves and solving problems that might intimidate others
  • Deep knowledge of the creative process, specifically in areas such as advertising development, design, production and post-production
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to stay calm
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple requests and maintain a high level of attention to detail and responsiveness
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and people-management skills


Location: New York, San Francisco, Washington DC or Chicago or remote (must work East Coast or Central time hours)

Employee Status: Full-Time

  • The minimum salary expectation for this particular position is $100,000.
