Growing Nationwide General Contractor located in Kennesaw, GA in business since 1982 is seeking a full time highly motivated, disciplined, and organized Assistant Project Manager/Estimator. This position will focus on occupied and unoccupied interior and exterior work. Project types vary and include – client re-allocations, ground up construction, tenant improvements, site construction, maintenance programs and re-branding programs / roll out programs. Long term growth potential with a fast-growing company working to expand territories. Work directly with a senior Project Manager. Specifically looking for an individual with 2-5 years’ experience as an APM / Estimator for Commercial Construction - (and/or recent college graduate with 1-2 years internship experience in commercial construction).
Ideal Candidate will have experience and knowledge in the following areas:
Ability to estimate multiple projects and produce accurate and detailed quantity take offs.
Have strong understanding of excel.
Communicate effectively and positively with clients.
Full project bidding, estimating and scheduling experience. Subcontractor Management, track Change Orders, produce submittals and RFI’s with associated logs.
Produce project schedules and have a strong understanding of project plans.
This person must be advanced and proficient in current technologies (i.e.-outlook email, Microsoft office, digital photography, computerized filing, and AIA forms experience is a plus).
On screen take off is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills are a must be able to build relationships within internal groups, external groups.
We work in a team environment.
Some travel is required, roughly 15 days per year.
This candidate must have a “can do” attitude and do anything needed to successfully complete the project per the client/firm's need and time line.
This candidate must have strong email, phone, and online capabilities.
Specifically looking for an individual with 2-5 years’ experience as an APM / Estimator.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently.
Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills that builds trust and rapport.
A proactive person, that promptly responds to clients to job demands.
Ability to estimate with detailed quantity take offs.
On-screen take off (Plan Swift) a plus.
Advanced and proficient in current technologies (i.e. Outlook, Microsoft Office, Excel, Digital Photography, Computerized Filing).
Experience with Microsoft Project; prefer experience with Viewpoint (our software) or Sage Timberline (not our software but some skills transfer).
