Outside Sales Representative - Lumber and Exterior Building Products - To Dealers + Lumberyards

Are you a proven exterior building materials sales representative who is looking for an opportunity to take over a thriving territory and continue to grow it?

We are currently retained by a well-established leader in the lumber and exterior building products space to find an experienced and driven sales professional for their southeastern PA territory. Our client is big enough to support any growth you can drive in your territory, but small enough to treat you like a person, not a number. They are deeply committed to their culture and are looking for people who want to be part of a close knit team with easy access to leadership to get things done when needed.

The ideal candidate:

  • Is driven to succeed and greatly enjoys the strategy of selling.

  • Prefers to sell high end products with a consultative approach.

  • Truly cares about getting to know their customers and helping them succeed.

  • Believes in continuous improvement. From podcasts to training, you're always looking for ways to improve yourself and your results. We don't care if you have a degree - as long as you're always learning.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 7 years of successful sales experience with siding, decking, railing, lumber, or other exterior products.

  • Past success selling to lumber yards, building material dealers with pull through sales through builders, contractors, architects.

  • The ability to think strategically and execute on those strategies to not only grow existing customer revenue but continue to grow market share by adding new customers.

Responsibilities + Opportunities:

  • You'll be given the opportunity to take over a strong existing book of business in a territory with substantial growth potential in the future.

  • You'll be responsible for getting to know your customers deeply, supporting them with advice, training, and support.

  • You'll spend your time mostly on the road visiting with your dealers, contractors, architects, etc.

  • You'll also have time in your home office to plan and take care of any projects or paperwork.
