FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN- DIE CASTING EQUIPMENT

Traveling installation and service of die casting equipment

 

BuhlerPrince Inc of West Michigan is hiring for a full-time Field Service Technician.  Are you mechanically minded? Are you a team player?? Do you love to travel? Then we may have an opportunity for you!

Our Field Service Team travels throughout North America, but primarily focuses on the Midwest. 

Our Field Service Technicians earn a competitive wage starting between $20 - $26/hour plus an additional 15% travel premium.  Candidates with a Journeyman’s license or significant experience have the potential to earn even more!

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN- RESPONSIBILITIES

·         As a Field Service Technician on our Service team, you will travel to our customer sites to complete installation and run-off testing on new and rebuilt die casting equipment, as well as servicing existing equipment. 

·         Throughout the process you will follow blueprints and electrical schematics. 

·         You will perform wiring, pipe bending, and installation of hydraulic and electrical components.  You will also review and trouble-shoot PLCs (programmable logic controllers). 

·         Field Service tasks will require the use of hand tools, overhead cranes, and lifts.  

·         With attention to detail, you perform inspections of your own work products to ensure the highest quality. You are meticulous about correctly filling out any NCRs (non-conforming parts reports).

·         Safety is always your top priority, and you continually follow established safety procedures. This traveling position offers scheduling that allows for regular home time, per diem for meals, and your own hotel room when traveling! Our technicians are always booked for their own hotel room, and are not asked to share.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read blueprints in both English and metric using geometric tolerancing symbology
  • Solid foundation in mathematics
