Position Summary

Buena Vista Health and Recovery Centers is a growing, state of the art healthcare recovery center with multiple locations. We are currently seeking a Intake Specialist to join our team of passionate healthcare professionals at our Tucson, AZ Campus.

This position is a part of multidisciplinary Addiction Care team that guides and directs clients through the admissions process via collaboration with the treatment team, patients, families, and outside referral sources. This role will be responsible for completing the Biopsychosocial assessment within the Electronic Medical Records system and will be trained in the admissions process to play a key role in assisting the treatment team with admits as well as making patients feel welcomed and ready for their treatment
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients to the facility
  • Verifies patient demographic information and prepares/maintains patient charts
  • Confirms medical insurance information and explains benefit coverage
  • Communicates with the referral source(s) and Buena Vista treatment team necessary admission information
  • Completes all admissions paperwork within the EMR and maintains data integrity
  • Primarily completes the Biopsychosocial assessment within the Electronic Medical Records system within 24 hours of patient's admission
  • Obtains all pertinent ROI’s for emergency contact/legal/employment/referral programs
  • Coordinates transportation to facility as needed
  • Answers phone and email inquiries
  • Performs clerical work, such as filing, copying, or faxing
  • Provides exemplary customer service to inspire patient admissions through outreach and encouragement with both patients and their loved ones, educating on the benefits of substance abuse treatment in a supportive and compassionate tone
  • Maintains consistent communication with all parties regarding pertinent admission information via the designated organizational platforms
  • Keeps patients safe by following safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Protects organization reputation by keeping information confidential and demonstrating consistent professionalism
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or related field
  • 1+ years of experience working in behavioral health
  • 1+ years of experience writing biopsychosocial assessments or similar
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR system
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA PHI security requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among all constituencies
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
