Job Description

Buckingham Search is partnering with one of our favorite professional services clients to find an Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. This individual will assist with the HR strategy for 2 portfolio companies allowing tons of exposure to different facets of HR.

  • Oversee day-to-day operational support for assigned organizations, liaison with People & Culture operations team to process employee changes
  • Act as trusted advisor and credible source of information for managers and employees, and assist Sr Business Partner team to resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner
  • Partner with hiring managers to initiate recruitment, assist with job descriptions and initiate market data analysis
  • Support front line managers with employee relations, employee development, performance improvement plans, terminations, and documentation
  • Support the performance management process including goal setting, reviews, and compensation
  • Conduct exit interviews, aggregate themes, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance culture and engagement
  • Leverage analytics to review trends to help inform solutions, programs, and policies
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment laws related to day-to-day management of employees; partner with the legal department as needed/required
  • Manage company programs and internal trainings
  • Special projects as assigned



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Human Resources with experience independently handling employee relations, manager coaching, and performance management processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to quickly build trusted relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills


  • Human Resources Certification

This role is based out of Los Angeles, reporting into a beautiful office 4 days a week. There is roughly 20% travel to San Deigo as well, which is conducted during business hours.
