Maintenance Mechanic

Full-Time 40 Hours a week

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Participates in the on-call rotation responding to after-hours facility issues. Rotation is every 4 weeks and is 1 week (7 days) in length Monday 7am - Monday 7am. On call pay is provided.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two years of skilled journey-level experience in electrical/plumbing
  • Experience in general carpentry
  • Must have driver's license in state of residence
  • HS or trade school graduate
  • HVAC experience a plus
  • HVAC systems


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Repairs, adjusts or replaces structural parts of buildings, office furniture/apparatus such as doors, windows, partitions, ceilings, floors, roofs, cabinets including door checks, locking devices, and hinges.
  • Performs plumbing jobs such as adjustment and repair of pipes and plumbing fixtures, valves, floats, drains, grease traps, sump pumps, watering systems, air-conditioning units, freezers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, HVAC units, heat pumps, fan coil units, induction units and similar equipment.
  • Unclogs drain lines and sewers.
  • Performs rough carpentry work such as constructing wood forms, shipping boxes, protective sheds, staging platforms, flooring partitions, tables, benches, shelving, racks, and others.
  • Prepares and applies paints on walls, ceiling, windows, doors, floors, roof, woodwork, and other parts of building systems as needed.
  • Repairs and maintains electrical systems including switches, circuit breakers, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance according to established schedule as provided in maintenance tracking program to ensure that equipment runs smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Inspects drives motors, belts, check fluid levels, replaces filters, and perform other maintenance work.
  • May provide guidance to less experienced workers in performing a variety of maintenance jobs.
  • Keeps records of maintenance and repair work utilizing maintenance tracking program.
  • Observes safety precautions and uses equipment properly to avoid harming self and others, and damaging property.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of vehicles and grounds keeping equipment.
  • Minor masonry work and repairs
  • Appliance repairs
  • Grounds keeping work during seasonal work load peak
  • Does tasks scheduled in Preventative Maintenance Program as assigned through ticket software.
  • Additional responsibilities: snow removal, furniture moving and tasks that are scheduled in the Preventive Maintenance Program
