Junior Technical Writer

DESCRIPTION

You are the type of team player who wants to take initiative and push the boundaries of collaboration technology by assisting in defining and shaping enterprise clients in government and corporate spaces.

You are a truly enthusiastic self-starter who is capable of undertaking technical explanations, including proposal and documentation creation from collaboration with subject matter experts. You will work with internal technical resources to create compelling technical proposals for bid opportunities.

Bridges SI is looking for a Junior Technical Writer to continue to push the development of our growth and reputation.

This position reports directly to the Senior Proposal Manager.

In this role, you will assist the Proposal Team by creating and developing proposals to support bid opportunities and demonstrate understanding of client needs. The goal is to create captivating and comprehensive proposals that exceed our clients' expectations. We aim for the sublime.

As a member of the Bridges SI Team, you are expected to provide initiative, vision, and teamwork.

You will be a great fit if you are a strong multi-tasker who can provide sales and marketing support for the Proposal Team, including all Business Development Managers, Sales Representatives, and sales support such as Interior Designers, in a myriad of ways relevant to Bridges SI proposal and corporate initiatives. The whole of the organization works to resolve client hurdles in creative and impactful ways.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Work with technical personnel and subject matter experts (engineers, technicians, etc.) to help write, edit, and update standardized technical documents and templates that can be modified and reused across multiple projects
• Assist in proposal support by writing market research responses, and proposal deliverables such as Statements of Work (SOWs), cover letters, past performances, and employee/key personnel resume
• Create content to be used in marketing literature, including but not limited to website pages, brochures, white papers, flyers, slick sheets, and more
• Work with the management team to create, develop, edit, and finalize corporate process documentation
• Contribute to the corporate newsletter by writing news and confirming details with relevant parties
• Assist in general document design, layout, and formatting
• Contribute to other business writing tasks, as needed

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint)
• Expert level in Microsoft Word
• Bachelor's degree in english, communications, or related field preferred
• Course work in technical writing, non-fiction writing, and/or persuasive writing
• Fast learner, self-starter, creative thinker
• Ability to work well with others as well as independently
• Ability to meet deadlines with technical accuracy
• Must provide writing samples of previous work
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Must be willing to work in the Herndon, VA office (during non-pandemic times)
• Have experience with marketing and/or graphic design

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Have background knowledge in audiovisual technology
• Have knowledge/experience using Canva or other graphic software
• Familiarity with proposal writing and processes
