Affordable Housing Nonprofit Organization
San Francisco
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Terrific Finance Manager position with a nonprofit organization focused on providing affordable housing solutions to families with low incomes. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance functions for a $5 million organization. Specific responsibilities will include completing the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, quarterly projections, and contract management. The position will also serve as the main point of contact with the external auditors and work closely with the Audit Committee of the Board on the annual audit. The Finance Manager is part of the Operations team and will engage extensively with the CEO. This position will have the opportunity to develop and implement new processes to streamline and improve the finance and accounting functions. The Finance Manager will oversee a Bookkeeper. Qualified candidates should have 3+ years related experience. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required. The organization currently operates on a hybrid schedule and is located in San Francisco. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze financial reporting; present to various internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Bookkeeper to ensure accurate record keeping that complies with GAAP and internal controls
  • Complete the monthly close process, AR and AP
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Develop and implement financial policies
  • Work with external auditors and the audit committee to coordinate the annual audit
  • Lead the annual budget process in collaboration with the CEO and other Directors
  • Oversee the contract management function
  • Utilize Salesforce to facilitate contracting and billing
  • Oversee a Bookkeeper
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit accounting and finance
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong experience with Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Quickbooks a plus
