As a member of the HIPAA Application Security Program team you will be responsible for performing a detailed analysis of all applications (IT and Business) that carry and store Electronic Protected Health Information. Excellent presentation skills are a must, as well as having the ability to effectively communicate with business partners in terms of understanding requirements, forming solutions, and attaining consensus, formulating and evaluating solution alternatives for possible remediation and understanding Project Management Methodology and SDLC processes are key requirements for this position. You will coordinate with other teams that are currently performing Risk and Security Assessments across the Enterprise.
This position will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and day-to-day administration of the HIPAA privacy compliance program. Assist the Director of Compliance with investigating reported incidents and complaints related to state and federal privacy regulations. Maintain the documentation for privacy incident investigations, resolutions and sanctions. Assist in the coordination of any external audits concerning compliance with state or federal privacy laws or regulations. Assist with the coordination and provision of education and training of faculty, staff, students, administrators and other personnel regarding the privacy regulations and University policies and procedures. Formulate, document and report the educational activities in accordance with the privacy regulations. Provide assistance with the development, review and update of written privacy policies and procedures.Formulate, conduct, document and report on compliance monitoring activities related to the privacy regulations. Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and regulations, and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies. Complete special projects and reports as assigned. Prepare reports of reviews/inquires for internal and external use. Coordinate with the Director of Compliance and General Counsel the self-reporting of any identified violations. Perform other duties as assigned
HIPAA knowledge. Experience with development of test data, test beds and libraries. Technical experience meeting the job description may be substituted for degree requirements. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service experience working in a team environment. Knowledgeable in using standard business Windows applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills a must High school diploma or equivalent. 1 ? 3 years related experience.
