Security Engineer

BreakPoint Labs, a specialized Cybersecurity company that develops and leverages technology to enable a more secure cyberspace for our country and the world, is seeking a Security Engineer to work on cyber engineering projects in a collaborative environment, and under the direction of senior engineers. This is a REMOTE position. 

Responsibilities include:
• Application and web development in Java, C++, and Python, CSS, and HTML
• Mapping of system diagrams on the software and hardware side
• Use of the Django Web Framework
• Administration and engineering tasks for tools that include Firewalls, NIDS, SIEM tools, and Anti-Malware Solutions
• Research new features, versions, and vendor bug fixes to ensure tools and solutions are secure and reliable
• Perform troubleshooting of client security tools and solutions, escalating issues to senior engineers as needed
• Perform configuration updates and tuning in coordination with stakeholders and in accordance with change management processes
• Provide system administration functions of Windows and UNIX-based operating systems
• Design and operate virtualized infrastructure, like VMWare
• Develop and implement technical solutions, utilizing existing security hardware and software
• Research and evaluate technologies to enhance security controls and / or recommend replacements or enhancements to network security hardware, software, processes and procedures
• Develop system concepts and work on the capabilities phases of systems development lifecycle, ensuring data and system security is designed and appropriately integrated
• Develop, document, and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Required Experience:
- 7+ years experience in cybersecurity engineering
- 5+ years experience delivering engineering to government clients
- Strong knowledge of secure coding concepts and practices
- 2+ years Linux system configuration and administration
- Prior experience working with Elasticsearch, Kibana
- Experience with Git version control system
- Proficiency with Python and Django

Clearance Level Required: Top Secret or Interim Top Secret
Certifications Required: Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA], DoD IT II certification, (Microsoft Certification preferred)
