Field Services Transportation Project Manager

Braun Intertec is seeking a Field Services Transportation Project Manager to join our Team in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Responsibilities:
Perform project management tasks specifically related to transportation field services
Complete and review testing and inspection documentation for various transportation agencies including the Iowa Department of Transportation (IADOT), Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), etc.
Produce cost estimates and written proposals for construction material testing services on transportation projects (roads, bridges, trails, aviation, etc.)
Market external and internal clients
Grow the transportation market sector, specifically state-aid and aviation field service third-party construction management
Perform construction management tasks based on the amount of third-party construction management work developed
Assist in training field and laboratory personnel
Become an internal subject matter expert on state-aid and aviation agency field services policies and procedures
Stay current with changing state-aid and aviation agency standards and specific client policies
Attend external society meetings/functions
Have face to face meetings with new and existing clients
Perform various field and laboratory tests on soils, Portland Cement Concrete (PCC), aggregate and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) materials as needed
Required Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills are required for external and internal clients
Strong computer skills are required, specifically the use of Outlook, Word, Excel and many other programs used by Braun Intertec, our clients and regulatory agencies
Ability to perform multiple and complex mathematic equations as required for project management and field testing positions, including cost estimating and invoicing
Ability to quickly recall project and specification requirements
In-depth knowledge of transportation agency policies and specifications
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Ability to multi-task and specifically handle many projects simultaneously
Detailed oriented
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Represent Braun Intertec in a professional manner through communication and dress attire
Overtime hours are expected, especially for field related services
Overtime hours can occasionally consist of weekend and nighttime hours
Travel will be performed as necessary not expected to exceed 25%
Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving history
Must have or be able to obtain the following certifications:
o American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1
o IADOT Aggregate Sampler and Aggregate Technician
o IADOT Level I PCC and Level II PCC
o IADOT Level I HMA
o Nuclear Moisture/Density Gauge Radiation Safety and Operator Training.
o IADOT Soils Technician
Additional IADOT training or certifications a plus
Required Experience:
High School Degree with post-secondary course work/training and/or prior related experience
Civil Technology or other related post-secondary degree/certificate a plus
