Job Description

 

We have a Direct Hire opportunity for a Retail Banking Manager in the Memphis area.  This RBM will be responsible for leading the retail commercial, consumer and small business efforts of our entire branch network. The RBM will be responsible for ensuring the sales success of the Retail Division. The RBM will work with the branch network to generate sales and referrals. The RBM will also work with the Lending and New Business Development Team. This RBM will work directly with the SVP Sr. Lending Officer and the CEO in building a sales goal and strategy for the branch network. The RBM will work directly with the branch leadership to execute a sales and business plan, coach sales associates to improve performance, and represent the bank in the community.  This role has overall responsibility for the delivery of superior customer service, operational integrity, and adherence to bank policy as well as all Federal and State regulations. They routinely demonstrate and apply the standards of the Banks core values of service, accountability and common sense in day-to-day performance.

Responsibilities:

Management:

Responsible for managing and retaining existing relationships and generating new business in the Retail Division.  Leads strategic planning activities for business development plans to meet goals. Develop strategies for maintaining and further penetrating existing accounts. Execute the strategy with calls, visits, needs assessment, customer qualification and meeting follow-up to maintain, enhance and expand customer relationships. Assist customers in analyzing problems and propose TSB solutions. Respond promptly to customer issues, questions and concerns. Balances needs of the client/prospect with Bank credit standards and profitability requirements. Ensures the appropriate involvement of business partners to ensure client solutions are complete and value-added. Analyze financial statements. Make financing proposals. Negotiate terms and conditions for loans, leases, etc. Actively cross-sell bank products. Exercise strong credit and pricing skills. Make both credit and pricing recommendations for credits above assigned authority and decisions for credits within assigned authority. Sponsor loan requests through the appropriate credit approval process. Maintain and build account profitability with assigned clients, primarily by providing core banking products and services. Manage administrative tasks, including credit analysis and processing.

Credit Risk Management:

Responsible for management of loan portfolio for branch loan officers within the unit ensuring all documentation is in place and applicable terms and conditions are adhered to.
Routinely reviews the asset quality of all loans assigned to the branch, ensuring referrals of problem situations are made to the appropriate associate.
Ensures all loans are approved within assigned lending authority and that approvals outside of authority are referred to the appropriate associate.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of commercial, consumer and small business credit policies and procedures.

Sales Performance and Leadership:

Responsible for interpreting, communicating and ensuring the ongoing execution of initiatives and procedures.
Develops and integrates tactical plans for retail consumer and small business that will achieve the overall business plan/budget.
Plans activities, monitors results and assesses performance for individuals and unit.
Develops associates sales and service skills, by conducting regular observations and providing feedback.
Works with the Branch leaders to conduct one-on-one performance reviews, ensuring performance action or development plans are in place, followed up and modified as needed.
Regularly reviews branch performance gaps and opportunities, using observations, best practices and tips to improve and enhance team performance.
Responsible for the attraction, retention, development and deployment of human resources within the unit.
Prepares and participates in bank and branch meetings, goal setting sessions and group huddles.
Ensures that the highest level of quality customer service standards are employed in every customer interaction, adding value to the customer experience and helping to maintain satisfactory branch/hub survey results.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of ancillary services, deposit products and consumer and small business lending products.
Understands the basics of commercial and banking products and services.
Has an awareness of all other financial services offered by the bank.
Provides financial advice by having conversations with customers to understand their needs, uncover current and future opportunities, and recommend a full range of deposit/loan products and service solutions (profiling).
Ensures the effective utilization of StreamLine as a contact management tool to support customer retention and source proactive contact opportunities.
Uses self-analysis techniques to assess opportunities to improve personal quantity and quality of customer contacts and openly asks for coaching support.
Ensures branch associates accurately complete documentation for all products and services minimizing exceptions to reduce customer impact.
Ensures the documentation and fee collection processes and procedures associated with loans are adhered to and follow up is completed.
Responsible for ensuring a balance between growth and profitability.
Ensures branch associates complete annual training and assessments.
Perform monthly assessments, quarterly and annual performance evaluations.
Ensures branch associates adhere to all bank policies and regulatory requirement.

Communication/Teamwork/Partnering:
Communicates the corporate vision and assists associates in understanding how their individual priorities, goals and deliverables impact branch and market objectives.
Regularly consults with credit risk management to ensure common understanding and application of policies and procedures.
Ensures good lines of communication exist within branch and other departments of the bank, by providing feedback to specific areas when improvements are recognized.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5- 7 years’ experience as an Operational Branch Manager including sales, business development, and customer relations, commercial.

Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration, preferred.

Consumer small business lending, supervision, and a Business Banker or Commercial Banker capacity.

Excellent knowledge of retail banking products/services.

Ability to manage, motivate, lead, and coach an effective sales team.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Ability to positively represent the bank through community involvement.

Microsoft Office.

Hours:  Monday –Thursday 8:15 a.m. – 5:00p.m., Friday 8:15a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
(Some Evenings, Sunday customer engagements, community networking and social events required).

Salary:  $55K – $60K, plus benefits
