Summary of Position
The Clinical Supervisor has primary responsibility for clinical care of clients served by the program. The program provides an array of clinical and support services, including methadone maintenance, individual and group counseling to drug and alcohol abusers. The Clinical Supervisor fulfills the responsibilities of this position primarily by guiding, monitoring and assisting clinical staff in providing quality, sufficient and appropriate clinical care and support services for all BCCS clients served by this project. It is also the responsibility of this position to model and maintain high professional conduct and standards among all clinical staff.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 am-4:00 PM
Conducts and promotes staff orientation, development and on-going training.
Complies with all BCCS policies and procedures and ensure that all staff follow them as well.
Meets with assigned clients as required to formulate and carry out clinical goals.
Assigns clients to counselors/case managers.
Confers with medical staff, including psychologists/psychiatrists.
Provides outreach and educational activities in the community.
Reviews, at random and as required by licensing and accreditation standards, case records and take appropriate action when deficiencies are identified.
Participates in BCCS subcommittees, committees and meetings.
Provides direction to, supervises and evaluates via daily observation and annual staff performance reviews to staff, including: Counselors, Assessors, and Case Managers.
Assists the Senior Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager in the hiring and termination processes.
Ensures that counselors follow agency policies and procedures.
Acts as Senior Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager in the absence of the Senior Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager
Makes recommendations to the Senior Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager concerning program planning and changes.
Provides regular reports and any specially requested reports to the designated administrative and fiscal personnel.
Reviews evaluations and change recommendations with counselor responsible for the client.
Conducts Addiction Severity Index (ASI) assessments.
Assists Senior Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager in preparing for audits and other licensing and accreditation reviews.
Provides work-related counseling, administers corrective action and addresses grievances of the staff according to BCCS policies and procedures.
Resolves client/counselor conflicts.
REQUIRED: CADC or CCDP, PREFERRED: LPC or LCSW
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field. PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Human Services or related field.
REQUIRED: 5 years counseling experience in the drug and alcohol field. PREFERRED: 7 years counseling experience in the drug and alcohol field.
