Position Title Administrative Support
Department Slane College of Communication & Fine Arts - Music
Reports to Administrative Assistant, Dean's Office
Appointment Full-time; 37.5 hours per week; 12 months; $13.25/hour
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative support for the Departments of Music by serving as the primary point of administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of issues; assist students and faculty with class registration, change of major, transfer work, course change, cancellation and addition forms; create, compose, and edit administrative correspondence and documentation; maintain department website; process and distribute mail; coordinate and receive telephone communications, students, parents and visitors; organize and facilitate all performances/concerts - press releases, concert programs, livestream set-up, and staging; schedule and train all concert staff; arrange all rehearsal space bookings and maintain the departmental calendar; responsible for the administration, security, confidentiality, and retention of office files; monitor all budgeting and accounting for the department; manage a team of student employees and oversee student payroll; perform other related duties as assigned;

Minimum of one year experience as administrative support in a professional environment is required, 3 years preferred.; excellent skills in written, verbal, and personal communications; strong customer service orientation; ability to productively work/interact with diverse groups of people; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; work independently and exhibit sound/accurate judgment; work with sensitive/confidential information and records; proficient in Microsoft & Google Suites; familiar with Adobe Suite (InDesign & Acrobat, in particular); skills with word processing, spreadsheet, and database management applications; editing and proofreading skills; problem solving skills; compose correspondence; create reports; and ability to coordinate/manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and on deadline.

Must have the mental and physical capability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in a typical office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt or dust. Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.
