Job Description

Bozeman Montessori is seeking a Food Program Coordinator to start as soon as possible. This position is responsible for duties associated with operating a meal program within a thriving early childhood education center. This person will assist the Culinary Lead with coordinating daily snacks and a hot lunch program within required dietary guidelines. Duties include shopping, prepping, and cooking meals for a bustling early childhood center. Duties may also include delivery of food to classrooms as needed and cleaning up of kitchen in preparation for the next day. Candidate must be able to understand safe food handling practices, managing allergy information, and other considerations as directed. Occasionally this person may be asked to help support classroom teachers or serve as a playground monitor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Desire to understand and follow licensing regulations for safe food handling and preparation
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Become and remain current in First Aid and CPR as well as state-required health and safety trainings
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in kitchens, safe handling of food and equipment
  • Compassionate leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to balance flexibility within school systems and structure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A desire to serve children and teachers within the context of a Montessori community

This position is ideally a full-time, year-round position and the successful candidate is eligible for a sign-on bonus. (Company is willing to consider part-time, depending upon circumstances.)
