Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team!

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for running the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions as well as the financial services area including A/R, A/P and Credit. This includes maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including cash flow management, general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. This position will have contact with outside Accountant services which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal. The position reports directly to the President of the company and is considered part of our broader management team and will participate in company managment meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ensure an accurate and timely month end and year end close
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Oversee and manage cash flow
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to maintain efficient procedures and use of resources while achieving a high level of accuracy
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Supervises the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, payroll, FET and other local taxes)
  • Ensures that all licenses and software subscriptions are kept current
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Report analysis and findings to management team

​Degree/Licenses:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting or Finance - CPA is a plus

Technical Skills and Prior Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
  • Must be PC proficient and strong experience with Microsoft Access, Excel and Quickbooks
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all other departments
