Industrial Control Specialist

Bowler Pons Solutions Consultants, LLC (Bowler Pons) is looking for an Industrial Control Specialist to join our Hawaii team supporting our defense customer base. This position will primarily be responsible for the ongoing sustainment of approximately 360 advanced meter installation points dispersed across various military installations across Oahu.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sustain wireless Advanced Metering Program (AMP) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) field installation points
• Interface and coordinate as needed with the responsible networking points of contact to make sure the meters are fully operational and reporting back to their assigned systems
• As new meters are installed via MILCON projects initiated and managed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), coordinate with the USACE Project Manager (PM) and execution contractor(s) for the project to ensure the new meters are installed and integrated within the Enterprise Energy Data Reporting System (EEDRS) and Meter Data Management System (MDMS) per installation guidelines
• Ensure that all existing and new AMI and AMP installations adhere to the current applicable Department of Public works (DPW) Metering Guidelines
• Program, test, and troubleshoot all components of advanced metering systems, to include Schneider smart meters, Echelon ILON SMARTSERVER, wireless radios, Cisco field switches, and 900 MHz wireless antennas
• As part of meter installation/upgrade, terminate all necessary cabling to include LMR400 coaxial cable, CAT5/6, and LONWORKS
• Liaise with other Bowler Pons customers and subcontractors in the provision of integrated services at key military installations

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE)
• Wireless certification (vendor-neutral or vendor-specific)
• Achievement and/or maintenance of DoD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IAT I-III certifications
• Knowledge of basic networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MODBUS)
• Knowledge of and experience with the LONWORKS protocol
• Knowledge of and experience with basic serial protocols (RS-232, RS-485)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality delivery
• Ability to collaborate well with team members, take ownership of projects and initiatives, and work effectively with limited supervision across a broad range of customer-oriented environments

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the Army Metering Program, to include EEDRS and/or MDMS, or the Navy Advanced Metering Initiative
• Experience designing, installing, or troubleshooting various wireless sensor networks
