HVAC Dispatcher

JOB PURPOSE – This position exists to ensure the safety and comfort of our customers by providing topnotch service for emergency and scheduled service work.


  • Manage multiple media (landline, cell phone, internal calls, emails, texts, etc.) in quick succession
  • Work and relate well with internal and external customers
  • Handle frequent changes and adjustments to service grid
  • Communicate calmly, clearly and concisely – verbal, written, face-to-face
  • Maintain familiarity with service areas and able to give/follow directions
  • Properly interpret work orders for scheduling based on multiple criteria (location, skills, etc.)
  • Manage no-heat and other emergency calls in a time-critical manner
  • A high degree of accuracy & attention to detail when creating/assigning work orders
  • Follow and encourage good safety practices
  • Ensure field staff receive experience with recent training for skills development and advancement
  • Balance field staff workload with real-time customer demands
  • Consistent on-time FT attendance
  • Highly organized, yet flexible
  • Available for on-call rotation
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and in quick succession
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently with little supervision
  • Follow company procedures (collection, delivery, professionalism, etc.)
  • Offer creative solutions to myriad dilemmas


SKILLS – Excel, Word, keyboarding, Windows, standard office machines (scan/print/copy, adding machine, postage machine, etc.), general accounting skills, excellent communication skills

ABILITIES – Friendly & welcoming, strong work ethic, and loyalty, self-driven to complete tasks, good time management and prioritization, able to work within a team, good sense of humor, flexible and accepting of change, honest, able to accurately work on simultaneous tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT – fast-paced office environment, temperature fluctuations in an older building, some person-to-person customer interactions (internal & external),

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS – sit or stand at computer terminal 6-8 hours per day, reach w/hands and arms, answer 30-80 calls daily, perform simultaneous tasks, communicate (hear, talk, write)


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE – minimum of 3 years in an office setting, prefer dispatch experience

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS – annual review, attainment of annual goals established between supervisor and incumbent

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
