Job Description Essential Functions: Perform both electrical and mechanical teardowns and builds associated with machine tools Diagnose errors and/or technical problems and determine proper solutions Interpret both electrical and mechanical blueprints and technical documents Manage all in-house repair, maintenance, and testing in area of responsibility Provide written summary service report of findings, repair methods, parts list, and estimate repair times Provide service and customer support during in-house or on-site visits Other Job Duties: Maintain safe working environment and cleanliness Follow department foremans reports Create processes and one-point lessons Use electrical knowledge to troubleshoot/diagnose any wiring problems on a machine tool Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot/diagnose problems on a machine tool Operate overhead cranes and utilize light duty forklifts Work with other teams and share information across the organization Build positive relationships with co-workers Ensure quality standards are being met in area of responsibility Share in achieving company goals Follow company policy and procedures Competencies 1. Understanding of both electrical and mechanical practices as applied to machine tools 2. Proficient in both verbal and written communication 3.
Strong time management and organizational skills 4. Shop mathematical skills 5. Able to use inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators 6.
Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals 7. Understanding of Excel, Word, and Outlook Leadership Responsibility: Work to improve workflow through improving the skills of others in their department by developing standard work instructions, training, and employee review. Often work directly with management. Work Environment: The work environment is an industrial setting.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Physical Demands: The technician could be standing or moving around machines for periods of up to 4 hours or more without breaks. They must be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are approximately Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year experience in industrial manufacturing environment. Minimum 2 years experience with gearbox and/or machine tool assembly. Preferred Education and Experience: Trade school, journeyman, or apprentice program.
