Account Manager

Job Description:

We’re searching for a tactical, organized, and talented Account Manager to join the client services team within our advertising and sales department. In this position, you’ll be responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support through planning, customer service, and active account management.  You’ll spend your day-to-day in a fast-paced effort to maximize the revenue potential of some of the largest corporate advertisers. You’ll provide excellent customer service that will keep our clients impressed and committed. And you’ll play an integral role in the lasting success of an advertising team at one of the region's most trusted and respected news sources.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our sales representatives and advertising operations team to efficiently/effectively complete pre- and post-sales activity
• Act as liaison/point-of-contact between the client and all internal departments within Boston Globe Media
• Follow a defined sales process and use appropriate interpersonal communication methods to advocate for clients/customers internally and externally
• Grow and maintain strong/effective relationships with agency and client counterparts
• Analyze clients' and prospects' advertising/marketing needs and work with the sales team and campaign management team to recommend appropriate advertising solutions
• Project manage internal teams’ client deliverables, making sure due dates are met and output is above and beyond client expectations, this includes:
  • Working with Boston Globe Media’s content studio, Studio/B 
  • Working with Campaign Management team to execute campaigns in a timely manner, manage delivery, and review reporting

Qualifications: 

• 1-4 years of experience
• Foundational understanding of media landscape
• Experience working in a sales-oriented environment
• Prior media agency experience is preferred 
  • Experience with working with advertising operations teams 
  • Experience working on or with media planning/buying teams
• Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, organize, and handle multiple accounts/projects at once
• Excellent verbal/written communication, customer service, and time management skills
• Ability to handle stress in a deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work toward/beyond sales goals and exceed past performance
• Critical thinking and analytical skills, experience with reviewing media reporting preferred 
• Proficiency with GoogleSuite and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (Sheets), PowerPoint (Slides)
• Positive energy and pleasant (genuine!) demeanor
• A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment 

* This role is a hybrid position (3 days in office)
