**Qualifications/Skills:**Strong interpersonal skills, strong computer skills. Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred. Current license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa. Current certification for Medical Assistant. BLS and Mandatory Reporting certification.

*Education:* Graduate from an accredited program for Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
*Duties Include:* Greets patients and prepares them for examination, procedures and treatments. Aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Responsible for obtaining and documenting medical histories, current medication lists, immunizations and vital signs in the medical record. Preparation and administration of injections as ordered by physician. Preforms diagnostic tests as ordered by provider (example: EKG, PFT) and for which training has been given. Schedules referral appointments and distributes patient educational information as directed by the physician/provider. Follows physician approved protocols for telephone screening. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Keeps exam and treatment rooms clean and properly stocked with supplies. Attends departmental meetings and participates in committees, as required.
