Purchasing Specialist

Bond Consultants is a dynamic firm which provides professional employment services to many people with different backgrounds and skills. One of our clients, Global Manufacturing company, is looking for Purchasing Specialist. This position is on-site, exempt, and salaried at $60-80K.

Position Summary

The position is responsible for procurement of parts and products by negotiating delivery terms and dates with external suppliers, managing inventory and overseeing logistics.

Job Responsibilities

• Devise/utilize fruitful procurement, sourcing strategies

• Discover and initiate business relationships with profitable suppliers

• Negotiate with external vendors to secure favorable terms, tracking expenses while improving effectiveness

• Finalize purchasing details of orders and deliveries

• Examine and inspect delivered items

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse and transportation services

• Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers

• Keep good track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.

• Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements

• Occasionally Attend tele-conferences with Japan, out of normal work hours

• Domestic travel as needed dependent on vendor/supplier/factory locations

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree highly desired

• 3-5 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing required

• Experience in transportation equipment or transit authority industry, costs and terms

• Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets

• Native speaker of English language or equivalent.

• Experience and high-level knowledge of business in general accounting, trading, and logistics preferred.

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

• Working experience in a Japanese company a plus.
