WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The primary responsibility of the National Account Manager is to drive sales in key accounts and regions to achieve revenue, volume and goals. This includes accountability for achieving short and long-term sales objectives that are aligned with company goals as well as developing the strategy and tactics to drive action and attain desired business results. Demonstrated sales success in the Produce Industry and previous branded Consumer Packaged Goods Industry strongly preferred. The successful National Account Manager will find and develop new business opportunities; create value for customers which correlate to high customer satisfaction; develop and implement annual key account business plans; understand and utilize account/regional business drivers and industry data; and maintain relationships across functions, business units and geographic boundaries (Marketing, Finance, and Operations). The selected candidate will within designated geographic territories, initiate the development of new mass market and national chain business opportunities by participating in sales prospecting, presentations and the initial set ups for new accounts. The account manager prepares plans, presents to customers and develops new business opportunities while becoming a consultant, negotiator and partner to existing and new customer base. The National Account Manager must have outstanding analytical, account planning and influencing skills. Account sales experience is critical, as well as a thorough understanding of the Produce environment and consumer products. The basic function of the National Account Manager is to drive profitable sales growth. This must be accomplished through development of a positive and productive selling environment that ensures premier customer service, customer retention, as well as outstanding customer satisfaction and retention.JOB DUTIES: Drive profitable growth, as measured by: attainment of plan sales goal, comp sales growth, positive comp contribution, and increased customer transactionsResearches, identifies and develops new business development opportunities (e.g. participates in trade shows and industry networking events, seeks business referrals, makes cold calls, etc.) and devises methods to take advantage of these opportunitiesDevelops strategic partnerships and/or affiliations to develop new business opportunitiesWorks with marketing department to follow up on lead generated from marketing activities such as advertising, promotional campaigns, conferences, trade showsWorks with Chief Customer Officer to establish and implement personal sales plans/strategies for assigned territory; establishes behaviors for success to achieve goalsTimely implementation of approved Marketing programs as measured by: profitable sales growth and increased customer count Make scheduled sales presentations to assigned territoryAttain or exceed identified monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales volume goalsRepresent the company in a highly professional manner consistent with the image of Bolthouse Farms. Responsible for the primary company relationship contact within assigned regionResponsible for growing market share in each of the markets within the regionResponsible for the sales forecast for assigned regionResponsible for the implementation of company programs for assigned region (pricing, competitive strategy, marketing/advertising, literature and promotional programs)Work directly with Product Manager to successfully introduce new products and/or make existing product modificationsUtilize sales literature, product samples, and promotional materials strategically and consistent with company product strategiesReport customer and competitive activities via submission of accurate and timely territory reportsOther duties as assigned WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a BA/BS degree or equivalent training with 7 years of experience in sales and experience in selling to produce departments Must have a record of solid business accomplishments as a sales leaderProduce and CPG selling experience would be idealValid Driver License and clean driving record REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Hands-on performer—willing and capable of building and sustaining the brands and to maintain industry leadership needed to ensure continued growth and profitabilityExcellent communication skills, with the capability of articulating the company’s ongoing strategic vision into sound operating business plans and processesExcellent organizational and communication skillsPassion for customer service and the “customer experience” Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a high-stress, multi-task environmentProficient in Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Preference will be given to candidates with documented sales results in Produce & CPG. Understanding of price and impact on profitability.
