Job Description

Bolthouse Farms Canada is a food processing facility located in Wheatley, ON, known for high-quality consumer brands and innovative products. The maintenance personnel will be responsible for performing diagnosis, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair of machinery, overhauls, equipment, physical structures in the plant. The maintenance personnel must be able to work in different environments, problem solve, and use tools and equipment appropriate for each job. Work will vary from day to day depending upon the needs of the plant to maintain production. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to complete jobs in a timely manner and must be able to work productively with other employees. This position operates year-round while peak season is from July through November.

The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience in a food or pharmaceutical environment

Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge

Able to read machine prints/schematics, both mechanical and electrical, as well as technical and machine manuals

Proven troubleshooting skills and a mindset of making mechanical improvements

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-skilled 2-shift environment (wet, cold, hot (seasonally), indoor and outdoor)

Key Requirements:

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate well with others

Demonstrated regard for safety and knowledge of HACCP, Occupational Health and Safety Actand its regulations along with Food Safety Policies and procedures

Capable and competent in handling multiple tasks and projects and provides own hand tools for the duties

Peak Season Requires 60 hours per week Mon-Sat on early or late shift while slow season requires 32-40 hours per week Mon-Thurs.

Must be fully prepared for work upon arrival. Must wear long pants every day and have cold room attire along with non-slip steel toe shoes.

A Valid drivers license and or reliable transportation. Public transportation is not easily accessible near this location.

Key Responsibilities:

Safe and efficient operation of hand tools, food processing equipment and basic quality that surround the process.

Managing preventative maintenance work to meet reliability targets

Autonomously performing major machine repairs, overhauls and changeovers on conveyors, 3 phase motors, hydraulic motors, pumps, and fabrication is considered an asset.

Participating in projects and/or minor modifications and improvements in the respective area and partake in maintenance programs.

Managing maintenance work-orders through reviewing, editing and providing feedback to planners and leaders in addition to successfully completing the orders.

Providing production support for technical issues to ensure reliability of area

Performing preventive and predicative checks (i.e. vibration analysis, oil debris analysis, etc)

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift/push-pull/carry up to 50-100 lbs

Occasionally, be able to lift, climb a ladder, crawl, kneel, squat, bend, twist occasionally, and must be able to reach at or above shoulder height, stand and walk frequently.
