The Kern Grower Representative is responsible for building and establishing long term, productive relationships with grower partners and potential grower partners to ensure the production and delivery of premium quality raw materials that meet or exceed company standards.


  • Consult with growers on ground selection, fertility and nematode sampling and reviewing results with grower and Management, inspect ground work, pre-irrigation, and nematicide application prior to planting
  • Inspect crops, fields to determine conditions and need for cultivating, weeding, or harvesting
  • Advise growers on cultural practices, providing updates on industry production research, offering guidance on best practice farming techniques
  • Coordinate with plant, grower and management to select performing varieties for each month of harvest
  • Assist with pesticide application and compliance in addition to assisting growers with the adherence to Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) methods
  • Prepare and Maintain records for all food safety requirements
  • MRL sampling prior to harvest
  • Coordinate food safety audits with growers and Food Safety department to assure compliance
  • Manage permitting and compliance with the County and State 
  • Prepare weekly field reports 
  • Responsible for cost coding invoices in preparation for Accounts Payable Department
  • Prepare harvest forecast
  • Attend educational farming workshops and trade events
  • Coordinate with Harvest Department and Growers for field preparation with water schedules 
  • Assist in planting department
  • Responsibilities for bunch harvest and bunch packing  
  • Other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelors Degree in Ag. Business, Agronomy, Ag. Engineering, Economics, Crop Science, Soil Science and/or related work experience
  • 2 to 5 years' experience in farming experience preferred 
  • Valid Driver's License

Additional Required Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing and harvesting products
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the Imperial Valley regions 
  • Ability to monitor multiple farm locations to insure proper farming techniques
  • 80% of the time will be spent in the field with the grower community
