The Boeing Company is seeking a Commercial Field Service Representative to be based at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), CA, USA, as a member of Boeing's Charlie Works team. This team operates primarily out of the LAX Field Service office, but occasional commuting to Boeing's Seal Beach location will be required to support standard business. Charlie Works is a highly talented team of exceptionally well qualified individuals who are challenging the status quo and leading the industry in deploying newly developed Predictive and Proactive Maintenance methods, including development and application of new tools. Through a uniquely qualified team, Charlie Works is driving innovation through Research & Development (R&D) to develop new tools and methods for troubleshooting existing aircraft issues, more accurately predict aircraft faults, and more reliably drive increased aircraft availability and reliability. Position Responsibilities: Provides guidance, consultation, and training to customers related to a broad range of technical and operational issues. Conducts onsite in-depth research of company and customer data to drive resolution of specific chronic issues. Conducts root-cause analysis on customer and company fleet data to identify/evaluate trends and opportunities to increase dispatch reliability. Validates or reviews effectiveness of existing solutions, and then develops corrective, proactive, and/or preventative action plans. Develops action plans for aircraft in unusually difficult AOG situations, whereby Service Engineering and/or executive leaders solicit Charlie Works assistance. Tracks progress of troubleshooting plan and maintains company and customer situational awareness. Conducts follow-up with the customer to ensure solution provided was effective and lasting. Travel for work approximately 25-50% of the time and be available 24/7 to travel on very short notice, to any location around the world. Interested candidates should have a strong background in customer and/or airline operations, including a well-defined history of developing unique solutions to challenging aircraft troubleshooting scenarios (commercial and/or military). A component of this position will require training and mentoring of peers and customers, and therefore the ability to instruct and mentor in a positive environment is also a requirement. Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic Qualifications (required): 3 years or more experience working with aircraft systems. Experience with reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams. Experience developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems, requiring ingenuity and innovation. Must have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally. Willing to be on call 24x7 as required to support emergent airline customer requirements. Must be capable of traveling up to 50% of the time. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or an engineering degree or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: 2 year Electronics degree or equivalent Military / vocational training Experience developing and delivering training materials Experience operating test equipment; such as: Signal Generators, Radio Frequency (RF) sources, Pulse Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Power Supplies and Digital Multi-meters. Recent airline experience, or 10 years' experience troubleshooting Boeing aircraft systems. FCC GROL License. Aircraft Electronics Degree (A.A.S., B.S., or military equivalent). NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician Certificate. Avionics workshop experience troubleshooting down to sub-component (IC, transistor, capacitor, resistor, diode) level Experienced ACMS troubleshooter At least 2 years' experience developing and delivering training to others. Leadership and/or project management experience.
