Navy Program Office Operations Assistant

DUTIES:
- Support PMO operations activities toward achieving the government Program Manager’s vision and mission.
- Liaise for the Program Manager with multiple Mission Areas and their programs.
- Track and coordinate data retrieval requests from the Program Executive Office (PEO).
- Maintain the Action Item log via Microsoft Planner in Teams and influence progress through active communication with Mission Area and program leads.
- Provide support to the Ship’s Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Fielded Systems program leadership with the development and management of the SSEE Family of Systems (FoS) fielding plans to modernize the Navy's shipboard and shore sites with the latest capabilities.
- Work with the installation team to monitor program office installation tasks in the DoD system, review installation estimates with program managers, and adjudicate any funding issues with installation management offices.
- Collaborate with the program office financial office to ensure the execution of installation funds per fiscal year budgets Monitor installation risk and performance metrics and advise the program office of potential impacts to installation cost, schedule, and performance.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems in program management and fielding support.
- Monitor cost, schedule, and performance of multiple projects, using tools like MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and have regular interactions with program stakeholders, schedulers, developers, finance team, etc.
- Assist in tracking and execution of Action Items assigned from all programs’ Spend Plan Reviews and Bi-Annual Program Reviews.
- Conduct clear and effective communications, status updates, risk analysis, critical path analyses, etc., and make recommendations for improvement to program leadership.
- Coordination with diverse cross-functional teams to author documentation and build presentations in support of program decisions and requirements.
- Responsible for the operational success of the physical PMW workspace; coordinated with PEO facilities to ensure the site is fully functional.
- Organize and facilitate meetings for the client and execute client direction as required. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
EXPERIENCE:
- Four (4) years of program or project management, preferably with the U.S. Navy, the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) or its Warfare Centers, or the PEO C4I program offices.
- Working level familiarity with NAVWAR installation tools (e.g., SPIDER).
- Managing cost, schedule, and performance of programs under the Defense Acquisition System.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Planner, Teams, and PowerPoint.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Polished verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) protocols.
- Knowledge of DoD DoD/SECNAV 5000 instructions.
- Knowledge of Navy Modernization Process (NMP).
- BA or BS degree.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with supporting Navy Systems Program Offices, including NAVWAR, NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NAVSUP, NAVFAC, etc.
- MA or MS degree.
- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) up to Level III in Program Management or Project.
- Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
CLEARANCE:
Eligible candidates must currently have and sustain a SECRET clearance. Boarhog's Facility Security Officer will immediately determine the cleared eligibility of successfully screened candidates as a prerequisite to a conditional offer of employment.
