Job Description

The Board of Jewish Education Early Childhood Center is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. BJE-ECC in Wilmette offers preschool and full day care options for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. The Board of Jewish Education Early Childhood Center is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. This person should be able to hit the ground running in a progressive learning environment working with children as young as infants to 5 years old. BJE-ECC is a Reggio-inspired school.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with preschool-aged children on activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
  • Create a fun and safe learning environment
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
  • Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
  • Maintain the health and safety of all students

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
  • Passionate about working with children and families
  • Ability to collaborate with team to coordinate open-ended learning explorations
  • Positive and patient demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Document learning moments
  • Teaching degree/credentials preferred (minimum 6 hours of Early Childhood Education credits)
