Managed Services Engineer

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, and configuration(s).
  • Create project plans, design, and implement solutions.
  • Level 2 and Level 3 Support for problems identified with systems and network. Will act as an escalation for Level 1 and Level 2 support technicians.
  • Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment via quote procedure.
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed.
  • Standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc.
  • Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.
  • Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualization using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration
  • Interface with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor
  • Utilize superior customer service skills
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
  • Configure, test, manage and maintain virtual systems on various cloud platforms such as VmwareVCloud, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Windows server versions up to and including Windows Server 2019, Windowsworkstationsthrough Windows 10, and networking experience in a complex, multi-vendor network environment.
  • Experience with VMware in a Windows Server environment, Microsoft Exchangeand Office 365.
  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN and WWAN configuration management and administration.
  • Experience with NetApp, Dell, Nimble and Western Digital Intelliflashis a plus.
  • Proven background of providing great customer service.
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Hardware and software including SAN, server, and networking solutions.
  • Current Windows Servercertifications preferred.
  • VCP certifications desired.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team on multiple projects while meeting deadline demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skills in analyzing complex problems, troubleshooting and resolving them and ability to create and consistently maintain, reliable systems documentation.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
