RETAIL OPERATIONS & DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIST

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Operations & Development Strategist is responsible for all consulting contract work oversight, development, implementation and management for all retail related development. The position works closely with the Project Manager, Sr. Strategists and Strategists. The Retail Operations & Development Strategist will work closely with team members to ensure that retail consulting contract work is executed efficiently and communicate with clients to ensure that final deliverables meet their expectations. This position requires managing multiple retail consulting contracts simultaneously.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Retail Operations & Development Strategist will have a range of responsibilities in all areas of Blue Stone’s business activities in Indian Country. Responsibilities generally include:

Retail Assessments & Future Development

· Work with team members to conduct assessments of tribally owned retail businesses including Convenience Stores, Travel Plazas, Fuel Centers, Gift Shops, Quick Service Restaurants, Casino Food and Beverage Operations and more

· Provide in depth analysis and report of client’s retail data related to ongoing business development including suggested next steps

· Present findings and engage client in the implementation of recommended next steps

· Successfully execute retail implementation on time and on budget

· Work with team members to recommend retail development ideation as part of highest and best use of land evaluation process

· Conduct retail feasibility studies culminating in a feasibility report and client presentation

· Conduct retail business planning culminating in a completed business plan and client presentation

· Coordinate and facilitate retail consulting contract meetings with clients

· Perform due diligence, interviews and other data gathering exercises to support consulting contract development

· Develop effective deliverables as needed including final presentations and case studies.

· Ensure quality of all documents and deliverables

Research & Analysis

· Provide retail industry and project specific knowledge, insights, and credibility

· Conduct financial analysis and forecasting and develop complex financial models

· Utilize media and other resources to assist in retail development and public relations

· Remain up-to-date on current events in Indian County

· Provide retail research for thought leadership, press releases, website content and other Blue Stone communications

Business Development & Relationship Management

· Cultivate existing and new Tribal relationships

· Identify potential business opportunities and clients

· Maintain database of current and potential relationships

· Assist in developing retail project proposals/RFPs

· Develop retail marketing support materials

· Manage multiple retail consulting contracts to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables

· Synthesize complex information and design work flows and procedures

· Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and strong attention to detail

· Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and respond promptly to customer needs

· Write clearly and informatively and tailor writing style to context and client needs

· Present information and deliverables to a range of audiences

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) preferred, however extensive experience managing retail operations with an annual sales volume of $2 Million + in sales could serve as a substitute for the MBA

· Three or more years in retail, travel stop or c-store, big box, grocery, or department store management experience

· Three or more years managing operations with an annual sales volume of $2 Million + in sales

· Three or more years of experience effecting and deciphering budgets and P&L Statements

· Three or more years of supervising and training 5 + employees

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel including payroll systems
