Performs tasks as delegated and indicated on the care plan for Home Health client/family during a specified work period.
The Aide will understand the basic elements of body functioning. Understands the physical and emotional changes including those which occur in the death and dying process. Knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Must have good interpersonal skills, be courteous and caring. Must know medical terminology, organizational policies and procedures. Requires ability to do detailed work correctly, function under and handle stress. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client and patient population.
12 hours continuing education required annually. Satisfactorily completes a written competency test and performance test. Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credit for each year.
Responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for patients.;Operates and maintains medical equipment based on specific policies.;Delivers written and oral communications that engage audience participants, respond to their questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact.;Applies home healthcare operating principles and practices within own position.;Adheres to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information.;
This is a combination position with the primary role of Home Health Aide, sometimes performing Homemaker duties and sometimes Health Unit Coordinator duties. Valid driver's license required.
High school graduate or high school equivalency diploma preferred. State approved nursing assistant course of at least 75 hours classroom and 15 hours HHA training, or satisfactory competency evaluation.
One year nursing assistant experience preferred.
Nursing assistant certificate required with additional home health aide training preferred. Valid driveras license required.
